“Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination nor both together go to the making of genius. Love, love, love, that is the soul of genius. True genius without heart is a thing of nought – for not great understanding alone, not intelligence alone, nor both together, make genius.” – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
As American’s ease themselves each day toward an existence of complete apathy, with their only care they might have left after attending to their latest texts, their latest App’s, – to the latest load of nonsense offered to them by a world gone mad – is looking up to the sky with an empty look, wondering what do I do now…there is the simplest of thoughts offered not just by Mozart…but by countless other “genius’s” before and after him who understood, possibly like no others, what genius is all about…and what most of us have within our grasp….love.
As a writer of whatever it is that write about each day, I can always coast into writing of the abyss of the offerings of the world and attempt to cast a shadow on the f**kery of the day – but not today.
Another trip around the Sun for me today, and at 63, the only constant truth I can attest to is what Mozart, the genius, said a couple of hundred of years ago, and about all that any honest genius before him and after him has said in one fashion or another….
“Love, Love, Love – That is the Soul of Genius”
