Blessed in Our Depravities

Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard. – H.L. Mencken

“We’re doing tremendously well. Our consumers are rich. I gave a tremendous tax cut, and they’re loaded up with money. And they’re buying — I saw the Walmart numbers, they were through the roof just two days ago. That’s better than any poll. That’s better than any economist.

And we’re not going to have a recession. But the rest of the world is not doing well as we’re doing. The rest of the world, if you look at Germany, if you look at the European Union, frankly, look at the U.K., you have a lot of countries that are not doing well.” Donald Trump – 8/19/2019

Jesus, Mary and Jospeh!  The carnival barker is now measuring the economy by Walmart numbers. Yes, that holy den of depression, where one trepidly steps foot in, hoping to find the cheapest prices on food, staples and clothing without seeing a Walmart shopper who can never be unseen – this is the measurement – and the economy is steamrolling into the stratosphere, where consumers are rich, rolling in dough, cash streaming out of their pockets…and shopping at Walmart!

Whew! At least that’s all cleared up and now everyone can get back to rancor, Twitter shouting and daily ignorance and dickheadism.

Flannery O’Connor wrote that “we are all rather blessed in our deprivations, if we let ourselves be”. I might be deprived by the gods of not being able to understand evil, but am blessed that I don’t understand it and thereby, if I allow myself to be blessed by the depravation of not understanding, I can see evil for what it is…and fight all its sinister forms.

The insanity of the era (as it’s the era we find ourselves in) separate yet joined with all previous insane era’s, is a mess of depravities run amok, with psychopath’s on the loose, dictating what brand of evil they want to shower upon us for their control and profit.  The psychopath’s all about us, are deprived of goodness, of kindness, of empathy and of love, by whatever chosen paths they’ve elected to follow.  They aren’t blessed in their deprivations, for they don’t recognize them as any sort of deprivation.  They only revel in the lie, the omission of truth, and in the practices of evil, in all its varied and twisted forms. This is their depravity, not from good, but from not understanding their depravity, of not recognizing goodness, empathy, kindness and love, which would allow them to perhaps understand their depravity, and act upon it.  And it is their path, freely chosen.

And so, the depravities of good people, are depravities that might allow us to be unfettered by the insanities of the era, while the depravities of the psychopath’s, no matter where they originate from, cannot fathom anything that doesn’t profit their sickness, their evil, and the depravities suffered from souls who choose evil.

The eternal fight of good versus evil continues

“Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men.” ― Martin Luther King Jr.
