Sometimes you get to see the truth unfiltered. It stares one in the face. Sadly, most choose to turn away from the truth.
In his first staff meeting at the State department, Mike Pompeo promised to bring the State Department’s “swagger back,” which he said on Wednesday was an “aggressiveness born of the righteous knowledge that our cause is just, special and built upon America’s core principles.”
Bad news for any country on Washington’s hit list of planned wars.
While America’s core principles are practiced, for the most part, by the average American citizen each and every day, America’s core principles as practiced by Washington usually end up decimating a country. And with each passing day, it’s not just sovereign nations that Washington is annihilating with its unquenchable thirst for regime change and continued Washington hegemony for the rest of the world, its also laying to waste its own.
With Washington spending $1 Trillion every year on its military, with no way to pay for it, billions upon billions spent on the war on terror since 2001, with millions of lives lost, both US service men and women and innocents in sovereign nations with the war on terror – Washington’s priorities are a stained diaper of nothing good for anyone. And the future doesn’t bode well, with the cost of war escalated under Trump, no matter the string of broken campaign promises from him, and Obama preceding him.
Meanwhile, those American’s practicing the core principles that Mr. Pompeo speaks of, with the rah-rah touch of carrying that diplomatic swagger to the ends of the Earth (hasn’t that already been tried?) are forgotten, cast aside and left to wither away.
The escalating cost of drug prices here in the U.S., with yet another president unwilling to take on the pharmaceutical companies; with millions of Americans remaining uninsured and the U.S. being the only industrialized nation without universal health coverage; with the average amount spent on health per person in the U.S., being $10,348, as of 2016 – the core principles of America are as foreign to Washington and their band of thieves and shysters as memory is to dementia sufferers.
Whether America’s infrastructure is crumbling probably depends on what part of the country you live in. In the wealthier counties, it’s probably acceptable. In the poorer sections of towns and cities, it’s deplorable. I don’t have to cite a link here, all I have to do is drive around in the major city I live in to see it first-hand. It’s not just the federal government, but also local State and City officials who reward the wealthy with the best, and the poor remain a forgotten and unattended to “problem.”
The homeless that so many, especially the warmongering jet-set in Washington turn a blind eye toward, continues. It won’t go away by pretending it’s not there.
The National Low Income Housing Coalition estimates that the 2017 Housing Wage is $21.21 per hour, exceeding the $16.38 hourly wage earned by the average renter by almost $5.00 an hour, and greatly exceeding wages earned by low income renter households. In fact, the hourly wage needed for renters hoping to afford a two-bedroom rental home is $13.96 higher than the national minimum wage of $7.25.
These are but the basics that any civilized nation provides its citizens via the tax dollars we give to them. Most Americans don’t pay taxes with the idea in mind that our monies will go to lay other countries to waste. At a minimum, we expect our tax dollars to be used to take care of our own.
Maybe the rest of the world might welcome Washington’s involvement in their country’s affairs if Washington practiced what it preaches. Sadly, as Mr. Pompeo sends State department employees out on missions of finding reasons to meddle in another country’s affairs, to the point where we indiscriminately endanger, and most often end the lives of others, perhaps he, and his boss might want to first concentrate on the needs of the citizens in their own country, who pay their salaries and afford them the path to live a life above what many of their fellow countrymen and women live.
The lies from Washington continues. Even the former Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, attempts to wake up the sleeping masses…
“If our leaders seek to conceal the truth, or we as people become accepting of alternative realities that are no longer grounded in facts, then we as American citizens are on a pathway to relinquishing our freedom,” via NYTimes.com
“…the moral test of government is how that government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; those who are in the shadows of life; the sick, the needy and the handicapped. ” ~ Last Speech of Hubert H. Humphrey
