The Passion of Demons From Our Everyday

“The major problem—one of the major problems, for there are several—one of the many major problems with governing people is that of whom you get to do it; or rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them.

To summarize: it is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it.

To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.”
― Douglas AdamsThe Restaurant at the End of the Universe

This brilliant observation from Douglas Adams not only holds true when applied to those in leadership or government roles, it also holds true for about everything else.

The boss, the manager, the supervisor, or God forbid, anyone higher on life’s totem pole of authoritarian’s, is more than likely, the most incompetent individual that one could ferret out for the job to manage, let alone, “lead” people.

Those who insist they simply have to do what they were called to do, to fulfill their passion for the betterment of the world, be it only their vision, should be shipped to some sort of fantasy island where all the trappings that might assist their deranged state of mind are there…the office building, the office furniture, paper, computers, maybe even AI robots masquerading as humans that they can degrade on a daily basis – whatever might allow their everyday hallucinations of having their personal nightmares realized.

sarah-derritt-619554-unsplashThink if such an island existed.  Think of the absolute havoc that regular folks endure on a daily basis that would be avoided.

The doctor you’re seeing for one of your distressed organ parts who just HAD to be a doctor, but really had no talent beyond the ability to memorize long and boring medical texts, who now hasn’t a clue how to treat you – gone.  The guy who had a dream to lead a large corporation to obscene profits, garnering billions for himself yet allowing his workers to subsist on a wage that must be supplemented with food stamps – never happened.

And all the politicians, government “officials” and talking heads – all the lying journalists who had that dream of “changing the world”, well, the only world they could change would be that fantasy island world, where nothing is real and all their hopes to make the world a better place would disappear into the island’s portable toilet.

No war advocated and then acted upon by nutjob politicians, no slimy talk from US Ambassador’s to the United Nations, or State Department nitwit spokespersons, lying with nearly each syllable uttered, and no idiot president dusting off the dandruff of another idiot president, taking a break from determining what country is next on Washington’s list of destruction.

Sadly, nothing much disturbs the American psyche anymore.

Seventeen years of unending wars, millions of lives ended, billions of dollars wasted on psychotics’ dreams of making the world a better place – and hardly a dissenting voice to all the rot the world suffers from because of these demons. Better to go along in order get along seems to be the modern day mantra. Marching into hell has never been so easy.

Each time we put up with those whose personal passion advances the ugly, each time we listen to their BS, don’t question their lies, don’t stand up and say ‘no more’ to their rot of destruction, we step closer to annihilation for ourselves, and our loved ones.

Those who having a calling, a passion to make the world a better place, well, they actually do it, and it’s typically not accomplished by ending the lives of others.
