Insanity, nuttiness, absurdities….you know – what you see and maybe, unfortunately, experience about anytime you step out of your cocoon called home and venture out into the matrix. Can it get any more insane? Sure!
As we here at the Asylum find that laughing at the current insanity is one way to deal with the modern era madness, maybe there is an inkling of sanity making its way throughout the land of the slaves and home of the PC authoritarians who want to re-write history.
“As people are increasingly seeking a reminder of a simpler past – Doo Wop motels have come back into style…”
Who can say for sure that people are increasingly seeking a reminder of a simpler past, or just suffering from busted bank accounts with the cost of living, trying to raise a family and make ends meet. Vacations for a family? How can the vanishing middle class afford such a thing?
Our pessimistic side here tells us that “the powers that shouldn’t be” will keep driving wedges of discord among, well, everyone. It’s about all these nutjobs are good at. Our optimistic side hopes that people, most especially the younger generations can learn a bit of the good from previous generations and come to see that it’s okay to talk to each other (texts don’t count), to laugh with each other, to have a cocktail together, to live and let live, to understand it’s okay to disagree and that disagreeing doesn’t mean you go out and rip your city apart or beat your neighbor over the head. That it’s okay to acknowledge the sins of the past and move forward to make life better for all without destroying the past. That it’s okay to show respect to all – no matter race, religion, beliefs or bad habits, and that it’s okay to celebrate the good in all of us, rather than the ugly that the mainstream media attempts to shove down our throats each and every day.
Who knows – you might even be inspired to dress up for one another (a la Rogers and Astaire) go out and try a little swing dancing before the PC authoritarians find that politically incorrect.
