Constipated Brits Comment on American Constipation

“The story so far:  In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.” Douglas Adams, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe

Each day brings fresh lunacy from the corporate world. Those who might sit for a spell, plant themselves on a park bench and just watch, or listen via their mobile tracking/tablet devices, or tune into the current madness broadcast via TV programming – if there’s any sort of rational thought left in their heads, they take a bite from the genetically modified ingredients in whatever breakfast/lunch/dinner offering they’ve bought and take a deep breath, shaking their heads. Or if they’ve got a bit of a warped sense of humor – laugh at it all.

Robert Lee: ESPN under fire for taking announcer off UVA game

martin-reisch-199362ESPN has pulled an Asian-American named Robert Lee (Lee is a common name among Asians, for example, Bruce Lee) from announcing the University of Virginia/Wiliam & Mary football game in Charlottesville this Saturday because of his name.

What is even more choice guano, if that’s possible, is ESPN’s statement of defense regarding their pre-school antics:

ESPN subsequently said in a statement that its executives “collectively made the decision with Robert to switch games as the tragic events in Charlottesville were unfolding.”

“In that moment it felt right to all parties,” the network said. “It’s a shame that this is even a topic of conversation and we regret that who calls play-by-play for a football game has become an issue.”  via money.cnn.com

Yes, it’s a shame that ESPN has become the inane, butt munchers they are…but they are!

And not to be outdone with corporate tomfoolery and high minded illumination, the thedailymail.co.uk brings us the following:

“Modern life is making Americans constipated: Western diets and desk jobs are slowing down everyone’s bowel movements.”

gabor-monori-2199

A study conducted at Harvard Medical School shows that the number of people being admitted to the hospital primarily for constipation has more than doubled since 1997.

No SHYTE!  Unnatural and unhealthy ingredients, whether fed to the brain or stomach each day will inevitably lead to either full-on psychosis or butt-plugged constipation.

Such choice corporate bird droppings from corporate “thinkers”, reminds us of a line, once again, from Douglas Adams.

He was a dreamer, a thinker, a speculative philosopher… or, as his wife would have it, an idiot. ~ Douglas Adams

  1. Thanks for the lovely music (and the Adams quote to start). I love something good and bouncy to go with my coffee and few brief moments to myself in the day. Good choice. I can’t even watch the news because I swear my head starts throbbing. It’s why unless I’ve had time to muse over something that’s been coming up lately, I can’t really write about it…but it gets hard not to because you feel pressured to say something. But if I’m operating out of a state of ignorance or confusion, what the hell am I supposed to say? So, if I am asking the question to the Universe, that’s about the only time I write about it, because I’m asking input.

    Have a good one.

    • You’re very welcome! Nice to hear that there are a couple of folks out there who enjoys our musical selections provided here and there! I’m with you…if I even think about reviewing the news, my head begins pulsating. I sometimes attribute it being old and my brain just can’t deal with all the BS anymore but like you, I do feel the need to write, and sadly, so much out there is pure guano, so we must write about what we observe. and thank the gods for Douglas Adams, John Kennedy Toole, HL Mencken and the other great satirical writers that keep me, at least, somewhat grounded (or at least laughing). Thank you for regularly dropping by this site and I always enjoy and look forward to reading your offerings on your site. Cheers!
