In a follow up the our article from April 18th, it appears the aircraft carriers that the POTUS ordered to head toward North Korea didn’t quite get off to a good start.
As CNN reports:
As the White House was talking about sending a naval “armada” to the Korean Peninsula, the very ships in question were on their way to participate in military exercises in the Indian Ocean, some 3,500 miles in the opposite direction.
A senior administration official blamed a miscommunication between the Pentagon and the White House over reports that the aircraft carrier has not made its way to the Sea of Japan, also known as the East Sea, as an expected show of force to North Korea.
The official blamed the mixup on a lack of follow-up with commanders overseeing the movements of the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier.
Ah…but in their typical fear mongering fashion, the government and media had us believing that war with North Korea would be served up in a tasty bowl of seaweed soup with turnip and fish as soon as the armada arrived in the Sea of Japan. We should have known better than to report the armada was making its way to the war front, even though the main stream media reported it initially. And a quick check of Drudge Report headlines from newspapers, periodicals, magazines and online chit chat tabloids shows not even a sniff of petro from the cruising armada. Looks like another joke on us. But tomorrow’s another day and surely there will be some sort of catastrophe looming to keep us afraid, on edge and trusting that whatever horror looms, “they” will be there to report it to us.
Even “russiaphobia” took a bit of a break, except that for the second consecutive night, Russia flew two long-range bombers off the coast of Alaska on Tuesday, this time coming within 36 miles of the mainland while flying north of the Aleutian Islands. But we think this is the Russians just having a bit of fun, sending along more material for Rachel Maddow to continue to have a cow over.
And in other really important news, Bill O’Reilly, vacationing in Italy, stopped by for a photo-op with the crazy-eyed Pontiff at the Vatican V.I.P. line. It wasn’t reported whether the Vatican V.I.P. line also offered an opportunity for a quick confession, and if so, who would be hearing who’s confession.
…the insanity continues
