President Trump on Sunday threatened to bomb Iran if a deal isn’t reached on the country’s civilian nuclear program.
“If they don’t make a deal, there will be bombing. It will be bombing the likes of which they have never seen before,” Trump told NBC News in a phone interview.
Sounds completely reasonable, doesn’t it?
The president has made similar threats toward Iran, but Sunday’s marked the most explicit one yet, and it comes as the US is sending more bombers to the region and pounding Yemen with daily airstrikes. Trump also said the US could hit Iran with “secondary tariffs” if a deal isn’t reached.
Trump’s threat comes after US intelligence agencies said in their annual threat assessment that there’s no evidence Iran is trying to build a nuclear weapon or that Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has reversed his 2003 fatwah that banned the production of weapons of mass destruction.
Yes, but when you have the agent of chaos in charge, to hell with what evidence shows. Why would Washington pay attention to anything like that. It’s rarely done it in the past, why start it now?
Iran recently responded to a letter Trump sent to Khamenei proposing nuclear talks and giving Tehran a two-month deadline to reach a deal. A US official told Axios that the deployment of US B-2 bombers to Diego Garcia was “not disconnected” from that deadline.
Iranian officials have repeatedly rejected the idea of direct talks with the US in the face of Trump’s so-called “maximum pressure campaign” but have left the door open to indirect negotiations.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Sunday that Iran’s response to Trump’s letter made indirect talks possible but that the US’s behavior would determine how things would move forward.
“While Iran’s response rules out the possibility of direct talks between the two sides, it states that the path for indirect negotiations remains open,” Pezeshkian said. Iranian officials have been noting the fact that Trump was the one who tore up the 2015 nuclear deal by reimposing sanctions on Iran.
“As we have stated before, Iran has never closed the channels of indirect communication. In its response, Iran reaffirmed that it has never shied away from engaging in negotiations, but rather, it has just been the United States’ repeated violations of agreements and commitments that have created problems on this path,” Pezeshkian said.
“It’s the behavior of the Americans that will determine whether the negotiations can move forward,” the Iranian leader added. In his interview with NBC, Trump said that US and Iranian officials were talking but didn’t elaborate further.

Trump said in an early-morning phone call that if he believes Russia is at fault for a ceasefire’s not being reached with Ukraine, he may impose secondary tariffs on Russian oil.
WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump said he was “very angry” and “pissed off” when Russian President Vladimir Putin criticized the credibility of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s leadership, adding that the comments were “not going in the right location.”
Agence France-Presse reported that Putin on Friday called for a transitional government to be put in place in Ukraine, which could effectively push out Zelenskyy.
“If Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it was Russia’s fault — which it might not be — but if I think it was Russia’s fault, I am going to put secondary tariffs on oil, on all oil coming out of Russia,” Trump said in an early-morning phone call with NBC News on Sunday.
“That would be that if you buy oil from Russia, you can’t do business in the United States,” Trump said. “There will be a 25% tariff on all oil, a 25- to 50-point tariff on all oil.”
Trump had criticized Zelenskyy, saying he was “sick” of his handling of the war and falsely calling him a dictator.
Obviously, the agent of chaos hasn’t been taught that tariffs are taxes, and it is the citizens who end up paying those tariffs/taxes. But this agent of chaos doesn’t seem to be too concerned about the citizens of his own country – he’s more interested in bombing the shit out of other countries and ending innocent’s lives than concerned with the hardships his tariffs will impose on the innocents in this country.
Well, at least he didn’t say he’d bomb Russia…yet!

who ultimately does the dying? who pays the price? it isn’t trumpet and his boys club. it isn’t most rulers and so called leaders. it is the people who serve them, who vote for them, who work and pay taxes to those monsters that does the paying, the bleeding and the burying of their loved ones. governments and people like the trumpet never pay the price…and never will.

Thank you, Highlander! Truly…means a lot to me. I’ve been battling the flu for the past week or longer, it seems, and being 70, it’s taking me a lot longer to recover than I care to admit.
